Replacing Ageing Driveways Along the Tonbridge Road - Barming

Replacing Ageing Driveways Along the Tonbridge Road

Barming straddles the A26 on the western approach to Maidstone, and much of its housing dates from the mid-twentieth century expansion that turned a small village into a busy suburb. The 1950s and 60s concrete driveways that came with many of these homes are now showing every one of their years. Cracks have spread, surfaces have stained, and patching repairs only make things look worse. A resin bound overlay can transform these tired frontages in just a couple of days, often without needing to dig out the old concrete at all.

How an Overlay Works - Barming

How an Overlay Works

If your existing concrete driveway is structurally sound, with no major settlement or crumbling, we can apply a resin bound surface directly over the top. We clean and prime the existing concrete, lay a thin tack coat, and then trowel on the resin-aggregate mix to a depth of around 18mm. The result is a completely new surface that is permeable, attractive, and hard-wearing, delivered with a fraction of the disruption and cost of a full dig-out and re-lay.

Where the base is too damaged to overlay, we will tell you straight. In those cases we excavate, lay a proper Type 1 sub-base, and install the resin surface on top. Either way, you end up with a driveway that is built to last.

Kerb Appeal on a Residential Street - Barming

Kerb Appeal on a Residential Street

Barming's residential roads are the kind of streets where neighbours notice when someone improves their property. A new resin driveway stands out for all the right reasons: clean edges, a smooth and uniform surface, and a colour that complements the house. Several of the streets off the Tonbridge Road have seen a ripple effect, where one new driveway prompts the house next door to follow suit.

Permeable and Planning-Friendly - Barming

Permeable and Planning-Friendly

Resin bound surfaces are fully permeable, which means they satisfy current planning rules for front garden hard standing without needing a separate planning application. Rainwater drains through the surface rather than running off into the road, which benefits local drainage and keeps your driveway dry.

Why Choose Resin in Barming?

Resin bound surfaces are the perfect choice for Kent homes and businesses.

Colour That Holds Fast

UV-stable resin locks in your chosen shade so the surface looks as vibrant in year ten as it did on day one — even in full sun.

Natural Drainage Built In

Rainwater filters straight through the surface into the ground below. No puddles, no ice patches, and full SUDS compliance as standard.

Wide Range of Stone Shades

Choose from dozens of natural aggregate colours and blends. Match your brickwork, complement your garden, or create a standout contrast.

No Weeds, No Loose Stones

The continuous bonded finish leaves no joints for weeds to exploit and no gravel to scatter across your lawn or pavement.

Almost Zero Maintenance

An occasional hose-down and a sweep with a stiff brush is all it takes. No re-sealing, no jet washing, and no re-sanding joints.

A Greener Choice

Resin bound paving generates a fraction of the carbon footprint of poured concrete and actively supports sustainable drainage in your neighbourhood.
