We lift every block and remove the sand bed beneath them. The exposed sub-base is then assessed. In many cases it is perfectly reusable — block paving requires a sound sub-base to begin with, so the groundwork is often in better condition than people expect.

If the sub-base needs strengthening or levelling, we carry that out. A tarmac or concrete regulating course is laid on top to provide a flat, uniform platform. Aluminium edging frames the perimeter and the resin bound aggregate is mixed and trowelled by hand to a seamless finish.
