What Happens at Each Stage

Work begins with clearing the old surface. Whether it is tired tarmac, crumbling concrete or dated block paving, we remove it down to a stable formation level. The excavated area is compacted and levelled.

A compacted sub-base of MOT stone is then laid. In areas around Barming, East Farleigh and Yalding where heavy clay soils dominate, we pay particular attention to drainage capacity at this stage. A tarmac or concrete regulating layer goes on top, giving the resin bound surface a perfectly flat platform. Aluminium edging is fitted to contain and define the driveway perimeter.

The resin and aggregate are blended on site and trowelled across the prepared base in a single continuous application. Levels are checked throughout to ensure water falls correctly toward drainage points. The driveway then cures overnight.

Materials Selected for Kent Conditions

We specify UV-stable resins that will not discolour in sunlight and kiln-dried aggregates graded for uniformity and durability. The resin formulation we use retains flexibility through freeze-thaw cycles, preventing the stress cracking that rigid coatings suffer. Responsible Working Practices

Excavated material is recycled wherever possible. Our permeable surfaces help return rainwater to the ground rather than burdening drainage infrastructure. Where overlaying is viable, we avoid excavation altogether, reducing both waste and carbon impact. We leave every site clean and tidy, with all surplus material removed.
